Using Automix + Your DAW: Step-by-Step

Getting started is easy:

1. Create Your Mix in Automix

Upload your multitrack audio to Automix and let our AI mixing tool work its magic. In just minutes, you’ll have a balanced and professional-grade mix.

2. Select 'Ableton Live Set Export' or 'DAWproject Export'

Once your mix is ready, navigate to the download options and choose either “Ableton Live Set Export” or “DAWproject Export” (for Bitwig Studio and PreSonus Studio One). Automix will generate the respective file format. You'll need to be an Automix Pro subscriber to access this feature.

3. Import the File into Your DAW

• For Ableton Live: Open Ableton and drag the exported .ALS file into your session. Your tracks will appear as individual channels, complete with Automix’s initial mix settings.

• For Bitwig Studio or PreSonus Studio One: Import the DAWproject file to see your tracks organised and ready for further editing.

4. Customise Your Mix

• Tweak and adjust the individual track levels, panning, and effects.

• Add your favourite plugins to enhance specific elements, and use creative effects to add character to your mix.

• Experiment with automation to bring your vision to life.

5. Optional: Master Your Track with Automix

Once you’ve refined and finished your mix in the DAW, you can use Automix for the mastering stage and get your track release-ready. Tailored to your genre and desired loudness, our AI-powered mastering ensures your music sounds polished and balanced on all playback devices—quickly and effortlessly.

To master your track with Automix, export the audio from your DAW as a single stereo file. Then in Automix, go to the Mixes tab and click Upload Mix. Select the WAV file, and once it’s uploaded, click on the ‘Master’ button. More info on RoEx Mastering can be found in our blog posts:
