RoEx Partners with BIMM University to Support the Next Generation of Music & Media Creators

Dec 18, 2024

We are delighted to be collaborating with BIMM University as part of their innovative AI_Labs programme. This partnership underscores our commitment to empowering aspiring musicians and producers with tools to create professional-grade audio with ease, leveraging the transformative power of assistive AI in music production.

Last week, David Ronan (RoEx CEO and Founder) and Angeliki Mourgela (Research Engineer) had the privilege of delivering a masterclass at BIMM’s London campus, showcasing how AI-powered mixing tools are reshaping the future of audio production. Students and faculty attendees gained insights into how RoEx's technology can streamline workflows, helping creators to achieve professional-quality sound efficiently, and unlock new creative possibilities.

Highlights from the Masterclass

The session began with an overview of RoEx’s journey, followed by a deep dive into our flagship products—Automix and Mix Check Studio. Students witnessed a sneak peek into how Automix will soon enable users to export mix settings directly into the DAW for further refinement. This unique feature bridges the gap between automated mixing and creative control, making it a game-changer for both beginners and seasoned producers.

Additionally, the masterclass introduced Mix Check Studio’s Mix Enhance feature, which uses cutting-edge AI to enhance previously-mixed audio, ensuring that every track sounds its best. The session concluded with a glimpse into our work in audiovisual post-production.

BIMM AI_Labs: Pioneering the Future of Music Education

This collaboration is part of BIMM University’s groundbreaking AI_Labs initiative. The programme aims to integrate cutting-edge AI tools into the creative arts curriculum, preparing students for a rapidly evolving music industry where technology and artistry increasingly intersect.

BIMM’s AI partnerships span a roster of industry leaders, including RoEx, Voice-Swap, Musiio, SoundLabs, and Pixelynx. Together, we are helping BIMM’s cohort of 9,000 students across the UK, Ireland, and Germany navigate the ethical and creative opportunities presented by AI-powered innovations.

BIMM’s Vice-Chancellor, David Jones-Owen, shared:

“By embedding pioneering AI technologies into our curriculum, we are equipping our students with the expertise to lead in a music industry where creativity and technology increasingly intersect.”

Through initiatives like AI_Labs, we are not only providing students with mixing tools and AI-powered audio engineering solutions but also encouraging discussions around responsible innovation. This partnership reinforces our shared mission with BIMM to empower the next generation of music creators to navigate and shape the future of the industry.
